I am going to use an arduino board, solderless breadboard, and a Planetary Gear Box Set from Tamiya Inc. Can someone tell me a rough outline of the things that I have to do. The breadboard is just a fancy way to connect your wires, and to implement any hardwire circuits you will need (power supply?). Floor switches, pushbuttons, run them as discrete inputs to the Arduino. Arduino will have 2 outputs for up and down. These should drive transistors or relays on the breadboard to switch the voltage to the gear box. Not sure if you want indication lights on the elevator.. Programming: Luckily the arduino is pretty simple to program. Read about elevator logic, but it is simple - when you want to go down, drive the motor down until you hit the limit switch. If you need multiple floors, there is a standard method of logic for controlling when the elevator stops where, hasn't changed in 60 years.
