Mroutdoorsman asked Why would check engine light come on when new a/c compressor relay's are installed?
I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy with the 4.3L engine. I tried replacing my a/c compressor relay's and right away the check engine light comes on and truck won't start right away. I put the old blown out relay's back in and check engine light turn's off and truck starts right up. This has nothing else to do with the a/c. Just has to deal with the new relay's triggering a check engine light and not letting truck start right away. Please only answer if you have the proper knowledge for this since it is a electrical issue not a a/c issue.
And got the following answer:
The RELAY does more than you think! it controls your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE that adjusts ENGINE SPEED, and ALSO fine tunes the amount of AIR entering the engine. The IAC fine tunes the AIR/FUEL mixture, and a BAD IAC controller or dirty IAC will RUIN your converter, waste GAS and cause power losses inside! GOOD LUCK to you! That relay is telling you that it is BAD and that it is not adjusting the IAC Valve the way it should! The IAC also raises the IDLE speed to match the stress added when the A/C button is depressed and the COMPRESSOR turns on! SOUND REASONABLE????? Good!!
The power loss relay perform particularly properly with unique applications which can be specific to energy distribution and protection. The relays come with wide adjustment ranges using a scale which is simple to read either in 3 or 4 digits based on the model. These power loss relay support in rising the flexibility from the applications, reduce the overall energy and upkeep costs. You will discover relays that are made use of for common purposes which are available in reputable designs with rapid replacement solutions. And there are actually models which are utilized for industrial applications and heavier duty applications that perform on big loads. These solutions are created to meet the lifetime industrial control requires in the applications.
Their most recent products are the Time counter, Timer Delay, power loss relay, Quick Connect Couplings, Electronic Motor Couplings, Aluminum Couplings, Morse Couplings and several other folks. The web site provides a detailed description of every model in several categories of power loss relay couplings and sensors. These items are really helpful for high-risk applications. The power loss relay are also out there with options like numerous timing ranges and functions. The enterprise is at the moment in search of agents and dealers who can market and sell their factory created goods. They’re usually on a lookout for developing new and much more reputable goods determined by the demands and needs from the sector.
